CULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM
Reconciliation

Reconciliation is based upon the need to recognise the essential dignity of every person. To work towards the type of race relations that are based upon understanding of differences, respect and mutual action.

Reconciliation must operate in all sectors, private and public. Specifically, through all spheres of government (federal, state, local) and throughout all communities.

It is vital to think about reconciliation in smaller, practical, localised terms and to begin the work from there. A community focus is essential if reconciliation is to make a difference in the daily lives of all Australians, especially the indigenous peoples.

To succeed, all levels and sectors of the Australian society need to be involved
